100 things I like

Here's one of those list/meme deals that's been making its rounds. Just a note: my 100 things are in the order that they came to me, and the ones towards the top of the list aren't necessarily more important than the ones at the bottom. They were just fresher in my mind, apparently. Anyway, it took quite a while to compose the list. Maybe the next list I'll do will be 100 things I don't like -- for some reason, I think that one will be completed faster.

So, here we are...

******************

Directions:

Make a list of 100 things you like in no particular order. Avoid the obvious (significant other, pie ...) and be completely honest with yourself. If you try to think of things that you are curious about and inspired by, you'll end up discovering a lot about yourself and, in doing so, developing a sort of bank of your interests and ideas.

1. Cats. Love them, and have for as long as I can remember.

2. Marigolds

3. Butterflies, especially monarchs and tiger swallowtails.

4. The Pacific Ocean

5. The smell of used bookstores. Any bookstore, really, but that intoxicating scent of paper and ink that I love so much seems so much sharper and richer in used bookstores.

6. Crystals and gemstones

7. Orange-flavored candy

8. The number 8. (Ha! See what I did here?)

9. Completing a story

10. Really, really cold drinking water

12. My fingernails after a fresh manicure

13. Starting a good book at 10pm and finishing it at 2 or 3am.

14. Candlelight

16. Hot chocolate with little marshmallows

17. Playing roleplaying games (D&D and the like, or the ones that CB, Husband and I create on our own), especially when it's with friends, and we laugh and have a great time and stay up until 4am eating Doritos and chocolate chip cookies.

18. Singing. Nothing is more calming to me, or wipes the worries off my soul cleaner, then belting out a rendition of any number of favorites.

19. Taking a class. Doesn't really matter what the subject is -- just being in a classroom and learning something new is wonderful.

20. Rocks
